CULTURE AND COMMUNITY

The beating heart of our club are folks like you. We are a local, non-for-profit, 501 C3 organization with a small professional staff, benefiting from huge community support. A unique feature of PRFC North Valley is the strong and nurturing community and commitment by our members to ensure all players and families are included and feel welcome. Our membership is very reflective of the progressive and dynamic communities in the North Valley.

BALANCE IN LIFE AND SOCCER COMMITMENT

Balancing soccer with lives other priorities such as family, education and social time is often made challenging by organizations demanding unreasonable commitment. PRFC North Valley firmly supports multiple sport athletes and players pursuing music, dance and academic excellence. Players wanting more, have an opportunity to add an extra session a week participating in our Extra Training program.

PLAYER EVALUATIONS

Establishing an education plan and partnership with parents has been a very successful strategy. The performance of players significantly improves when parents know how to support the coach. Twice a year, parents receive a written evaluation of the players progress and have an opportunity for a player-coach and parent meeting. Our coaches provide a performance review and provide guidance on how players can continue to improve their performances.

RECOGNITION AND VOLUNTEERISM

Our success off the field in due in large part to outstanding contributions of volunteers. We make a significant commitment to developing a positive environment for our members by recognizing contributions of our volunteers. Our annual REVYS awards ceremony celebrates the club’s achievements, recognizes our volunteers and inducts new members to our Hall of Fame. https://www.prfcnorthvalley.org/revys

Goalkeeper Training

The goalkeeper position is a unique role in a soccer team and players must receive specialist training to achieve high performance levels and confidence. Starting with our U9 age group the PRFC North Valley Academy and Select team goalkeepers receive position specific training twice a week from our goalkeeper coach. Keepers in the Academy and Select programs attend at different times throughout the week and receive individual attention.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM AND TECHNICAL PLAN

The key to player development is great coaching and PRFC North Valley provides best in class resources and support to increase the chances of success. Our coaches have access to a tremendous library of coaching plans and videos to assist them in planning for the development of players and teams. To guide coaches and ensure consistency in quality, coaches are required to follow the Phoenix Rising technical plan.
