Matt was born in Illinois and moved to Anthem when he was 8 years old. Matt started playing soccer for Anthem Soccer club and played Varsity soccer for 4 years as Captain for Boulder Creek HS. Matt received a Soccer scholarship to play for University of Mobile, Alabama.

Matt played for 5 years, and in his time there at UM they were regular season Champions twice, they won 2 Conference Championships and attended the National tournament as a Top ten seed twice, making it as far as the Quarter finals.

Matt graduated from UM in 2019 with an MBA .

Matt has been coaching at Union 10 FC in Mobile for 2 years where he is Head of Marketing, the lead of The TOP soccer program, Homeschool program and a fitness based soccer program. He also coached the 11 and 08B teams.
